Red Mandevilla

Sun Parasol Giant Crimson Mandevilla has beautiful trumpet-shaped flowers on vining green foliage. These have much larger blooms than other varieties.  They are around 4-6 inches in diameter.  Mandevilla climbs quickly up a trellis and blooms all summer long. If you are looking for a unique groundcover, Mandevilla can also be used as such.  Trail it over a wall or from a hanging basket. These vigorous plants will lend a tropical look to your landscape.

Mandevilla are reasonably easy to grow and maintain.  They tolerate varying weather conditions but are grown as annuals in areas where temperatures get below 40 degrees.  When the weather turns colder, you can bring them indoors and keep them in a bright location.

  • how do i get my crimison trellis to winter over inside with out killing it

  • jason:

It will be tough to do but move it inside to a south facing window in a warm room. Be sure to keep is far enough away from the window to avoid cold drafts but close enough to get some sun each day.

If it gets too cold, the mandevella may drop all it’s leaves. Sometimes they can survive this and sometimes they don’t. Be sure to keep it watered but don’t over water. Hope this helps and good luck.
