Motley Mazus (Mazus radicans) has leaf colors that range from brown to green with black spots. Motley Mazus grows tight to the ground and covers the surface completely with runners that grow on top and below the soil. Topped with snapdragon-like flowers which are all white on the top and purple on the bottom with a yellow throat, Motley Mazus blooms for 4-6 weeks in summer. The flower itself is twice as big as the leaves of the plant. Mazus is excellent in between stones or as a lawn substitute.
