Description: Ruellia Katie is a dwarf cultivar of the native Ruellia found in the southwestern U.S. and Mexico. It has long lance-shaped leaves that form a mound with purple trumpet-shaped blooms on top. They can spread by reseeding and by sending out rhizomes but aren’t as invasive as their native parent plants. Katie will bloom and keep their foliage until the first heavy frost. They will go dormant through the winter and reemerge in the spring with fresh foliage.
Spacing: Plant 8″ to 14″ apart.
Height: Grows 6″ to 12″ tall.
How To Grow: Plant in sun.
Outstanding Features: Can be used in a regular landscape or in a waterscape. There are not many pests or diseases that bother these hardy plants.
