Size: #1QT

Description: Dazzling red and yellow flowers with button centers stand out on top of compact green foliage.  These plants are tough and tend to grow better in poor soil but they do not necessarily like clay.  Every 2-3 years they need to be given some space.  Divide in early spring and spread the color throughout your landscape.  Blanket Flower gets it’s name from the manner in which the blooms blanketed the North American prairies.  If you are in a prairie state or traveling into the Rockies you can still find Gaillardia along the side of the road.

Spacing: Plant 15″ 18″ apart.

Height: Grows 8″ to 12″ tall.

How To Grow: Plant in full sun.

Outstanding Features: Attracts butterflies.

Tips: Remove old flowers to promote new blooms. Average water needs. Heat tolerant. Do not compost.

Uses: Garden Bed, Containers, Borders, Landscapes, Cut Flowers, Xeriscapes
