Description: Arizona Sun Gaillardia has button centers in the midst of fiery-red petals that are tipped in golden yellow. These 4″, colorful blooms stand out on top of compact green foliage. This series will bloom the first year. These plants are tough and tend to grow better in poor soil but they do not necessarily like clay. Every 2-3 years they need to be given some space. Divide in early spring and spread the color throughout your landscape. Blanket Flower gets it’s name from the manner in which the blooms blanketed the North American prairies. If you are in a prairie state or traveling into the Rockies you can still find Gaillardia along the side of the road.
