Dianthus Firewitch has blue-green foliage with frilly, bright pink blooms. This variety has a clove-like fragrance emanating from the single flowers. Dianthus are also called Maiden Pinks. Some have double blooms that look like mini Carnations others have single blooms. The near-evergreen foliage spreads and mounds making it great for borders and walkways or cascading over a wall. Dianthus prefers loose soil that drains well. You can divide the clumps every 2-3 years.
Spacing: Plant 10″ to 12″ apart.
Height: Grows 10″ to 12″ tall.
How To Grow: Plant in full sun.
Outstanding Features: Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Drought and deer resistant.
Tips: Shear lightly after initial bloom to promote repeat bloming. Provide average water amounts but do not over water.
