Description: Most people don’t think of using Marigold’s when flavoring their favorite dishes but that’s what Tarragon is. It is a member of the same family but has an anise scent and a licorice flavor. Tarragon leaves are small, dark green and herbaceous. The flowers only bloom in areas that have a later winter and are golden in color but their grassy flavor is not desirable.
Spacing: Plant 12″ to 15″ apart.
Height: Grows 18″ to 24″ tall.
How To Grow: Plant in full sun.
Outstanding Features: Use Tarragon leaves to flavor vinegar, sauces and salads. It is popular in Southwest cuisine.
Tips: Drought tolerant. Thrives in warm, sunny areas that are well-drained.
