Sonnet Mix Snapdragons are a taller variety that makes beautiful backdrops for shorter plants. The mix contains dark red, yellow, white, pink and orange shades.
Snapdragons do best when the weather is cool but will stop blooming when the weather gets hot. When it cools off again they resume blooming.
Snapdragons come in various sizes ranging from dwarf varieties to varieties that can reach a height of four feet. Rows of perfectly formed, beautifully painted flowers adorn many stems. These lightly scented flowers will attract hummingbirds and butterflies but deer will stay away.
When the blooms are squeezed, they “snap”, which is how they got their name. Kids love to “snap” these unique flowers, so encourage them to help plant some in the garden. Maybe it will spark their love of gardening.
