Sunset Osteospermum

*We no longer grow this item, but feel free to peruse the information.

Summertime Sunset Osteospermum  have large, colorful, daisy-like blooms.  The Summertime variety are heat tolerant with a very nice mounding habit and natural branching where blooms are abundant.    The blooms will close every evening, and open up again in early morning.  Regular deadheading will encourage new blooms, and a light summer pruning may result in a fall flush of blooms after the weather cools off.

Osteospermum may need to be planted in an area that will protect them from the hot afternoon sun.  Too much fertilization may cause the stems to become weak and droop.  Moist soil is best but make sure it drains well.
