I keep mine in a pot on the patio which gets afternoon sun. I bring the pot inside in the winter. How do I prune the plant at the end of the summer?

  • Jason:

Hi Carol. Thanks for visiting our website. You can pretty much cut back lantana as needed to control its growth. I suggest letting your lantata go dormant for winter then trimming most of the limbs back to where all you have left is the main stem with 3-5 branches that are about 4-5″ long.

Lantanas are pretty tough, and I have seen some survive some very cold winters. As long as you keep the root system from freezing, I think your lantana will come back no matter how you prune it.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.

Is there any way to buy this?

  • Jason:

    Alan,

We are a wholesale greenhouse with a retail operation onsite. If you live near us here in Van Buren, AR these will be available in the spring. If not, try contacting your local garden centers and nurseries and ask for them. If they don’t have them, you can mention us and maybe we can get some shipped to them for you.
