Sundenia Red Dipladenia has beautiful trumpet-shaped flowers of bright red on vining green foliage. They have a golden yellow throat. Suntory has made some vast improvements to the dipladenia. Though very popular for their number of blooms, the bloom size has been small. Sundenia Dipladenias have larger blooms that compare to the size of Mandevillas with a bloom count that is sure to be a showstopper! The plant itself is compact and bushy allowing the 3-5 inch blooms to shine. These vigorous plants will lend a tropical look to your landscape.
Dipladenia are reasonably easy to grow and maintain. Keep them evenly moist and try to avoid getting the leaves wet which can cause leaf spot. Try not to water at night to prevent molding. They tolerate varying weather conditions but are grown as annuals in areas where temperatures get below 50 degrees. When the weather turns colder, you can bring them indoors and keep them in a bright location.
