Orange Tropical Hibiscus

Montego Wind Tropical Hibiscus has large blooms that are orange with a lighter pink band around the dark pink center. The Wind series of hibiscus can have dense, compact, glossy green foliage with large 4 to 6 inch blooms that attract nectar-loving critters. Because they are more vigorous than the Breeze series, Wind are more well suited for use in large pots and in landscapes.

Tropical Hibiscus can be planted in pots or directly into the flower bed. They prefer full sun and well-drained soil. They can take the heat, being tropical plants. What they can’t take is the cold. If you want to keep them for more than one season, you can move them indoors to over-winter.

    Dear Customer Service,
About 25 years ago I was at a flea market in Northern Florida and I bought a beautiful orange tropical Hibiscus. I had that plant here in Illinois for about 20 years and it finally got too woody and did not produce anymore nice blooms. Now, I see what the plant name is of the variety I had which is your Montego Wind – Orange w/pink band. Your photo I see here online is exactly the same as the photo that I took of my Orange Hibiscus some years back. I would love to buy just a SMALL start of this Orange Hibiscus as I always liked this one and want the same one again. Could someone please let me know if I can purchase a small start from you or can you direct me to a place online that sells this one? I am in the Chicago area in Illinois. Thank You in advance for your help. I appreciate it and I have been looking for years for a replacement.
    Sincerely,
    Lou Leciejewski

I found one at my local Home Depot the other day. You might want to check with them.

Linda what I am saying here is that I see “Montego Wind” Hibiscus on the net and not all look exactly as Jason has posted here on the Park’s Website. I trust that Park’s is the one I really want to get again unless I do see it in bloom at a place locally and it looks like the picture here.

    Lou,

We are currently out of town, but we will double check our pictures when we get back. There were some broken links on the website and we may have relinked them wrong. In addition, we will get a pic of the tag and post it for comparison.

    Thanks for commenting.
