Description: Gomphrena is native to Panama and Guatemala. Gomphrena’s “blooms” are actually flower heads that are papery, clover-like bracts on top of their long green leaves. The individual flowers within the flower heads are inconspicuous, but the stiff, papery bracts that form the bulk of the structure are colorful and showy and come in shades of white, pink and purple.

Spacing: Plant 6″ to 12″ apart.

Height: Grows 12″ to 24″ tall.

How To Grow: Plant in full sun.

Outstanding Features: Attracts butterflies and is resistant to most pests and disease. It is heat tolerant but can get powdery mildew if it gets too dry.

Tips: Average water needs but do not let them dry out.

Uses: Garden Bed, Containers, Borders, Landscapes, Cut Flowers, Rock Gardens
