Scented Geranium

Citrus Scented Geraniums are mainly grown for their foliage. When crushed or rubbed, these geraniums release an oil which in turn releases the scent. The citrus smell is though to repel mosquitoes. Some say it works like a charm while others remain skeptical. Either way, these plants are pleasing to the olfactory senses. The lavender blooms are insignificant compared to regular geraniums that are grown for their large, showy blooms. In Victorian days, geraniums were placed in paths where women’s long skirts would brush against them and release their fragrance.
