dark eyes fuchsiaFuchsia have unique blooms that look like colorful popped popcorn.  They come in several different colors from pinks to dark purple and even some red.  The foliage is often woody with dark green leaves.  As with many other plants, the more shade these beauties get, the leggier the foliage gets.  In areas with extremely hot summers, more shade is welcome in order to keep Fuchsia going.  They do not like hot feet and when grown in a basket, the warm air can heat up the soil. So on days when it is going to be above ninety degrees think about setting the pot down in a location that may get more shade and will keep the roots cooler.
