Violet Dianthus

Floral Lace Violet Dianthus has dark violet centers with a slightly lighter margin on the outer edge. The single blooms are ruffled on the edges which makes them look lacy. The foliage is medium green with narrow leaves. You will be sure to attract hummingbirds and butterflies to your flower garden when planting fragrant dianthus. Deer will not be found munching on this particular plant. Make sure that drought tolerant dianthus are planted in a location that drains well and try to avoid mulching with wood chips or organic material because this tends to transfer funguses to them.

The Floral Lace series is an exciting variety that gives you another choice for planting right along side your Pansies in early spring and it keeps blooming through to the first frost of fall. In the proper location and with the right conditions, dianthus have been known to winter over and burst back to life in the spring.
