Bounce Lilac Impatiens have light purple single blooms with a little bit of red in the center on medium green foliage. The Bounce series is a good alternative to the wallerina type of impatiens because of their resistance to downy mildew that has been running rampant lately. They seem to do well in sun or shade as long as they have plenty of water. If you do miss a watering or two, these babies will “bounce” back! There have been some other new varieties come about that are more upright such as SunPatiens but Bounce have a mounding/spreading habit. They tend to have a higher bloom count than New Guinea Impatiens.
Impatiens are one of the best known and most popular garden plants for their prolific flowers and ease in growing. For vivid color in summer months where other annuals won’t grow because of shade, Impatiens are the most dependable summer annual. Combine all colors available or select one or two colors for the greatest visual impact.
